How to create a bundle based on product variants
Create a Bundle Where Each Offer Matches a Specific Variant
Want to replace Shopify’s boring native variant dropdown with beautiful, high-converting offer cards? The Bundle Based on Product Variants feature allows you to link each offer tier to a specific product variant (like Basic, Pro, or Premium).
📦 Step 1: Configure the Bundle Offers & Product
- In the Block section, under the Visibility option, select the specific product you want to apply this bundle to.
- Navigate to the Offers section.
- Create your tiers, and for each one: set the product quantity to 1 and keep the price option on "Default".
💡 Why? This ensures that each tier represents exactly one single, specific premium edition of your product on the page, using its native Shopify price.

⚙️ Step 2: Set Default Variants
Now, let's map each offer tier to its corresponding Shopify variant.
- Navigate to the Advanced Settings section.
- Click on the "Set default variants" option.
- Select your offer tiers one by one and in the right menu, map each offer to its exact variant combination (Model, Color, etc):
- Offer 1 (Basic Edition): Select Basic + your preferred default color.
- Offer 2 (Pro Edition): Select Pro + your preferred default color.
- Offer 3 (Premium Edition): Select Premium + your preferred default color.

🎨 Step 3: Manage Variant Visibility (Choose Your Case)
Depending on your product structure, choose Case A or Case B inside the Advanced Settings section:
🔹 Case A: Your product has ONLY ONE variant option (e.g., Only "Model")
If your product doesn't have secondary options like colors or sizes, you want to lock the choice completely so customers don't accidentally mess up the offer.
- ➡️ Simply uncheck/disable the option: "Let customers choose different variants for each item".
🔸Case B: Your product has MULTIPLE variant options (e.g., "Model" AND "Color")
If you have mapped the main option (Model) but want to let customers freely choose their style (Color), do not disable the setting above, as it would lock everything. Instead, use the "Show only these variant options in the bundle" feature to hide only the locked option:
- Locate the "Show only these variant options in the bundle" section.
- Uncheck the main variant option used for your tiers ("Model"). This safely hides its dropdown since it's already pre-selected by the offer card.
- Keep checked the secondary variant option ("Color").
